Job summary

European Space Agency in the Netherlands is seeking a Product Assurance and Safety Engineer to support Galileo Second Generation within the NAV organization. You will define PA&S requirements, review contractor plans, and monitor PA&S implementation to ensure safety and reliability across space projects.

The role requires a master’s degree in engineering and at least four years of relevant experience, with ECSS knowledge and space QA expertise.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in an engineering subject is required.
• Four years of relevant professional experience are required.
• PA&S experience on space projects with ECSS and industry partners is an asset.
• Knowledge of space product assurance, quality assurance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Define or support PA&S requirements in line with ESA policy.
• Review contractors' PA&S plans, specifications and efforts.
• Guide and monitor PA&S implementation by contractors and participate in reviews.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor PA&S support for the project team.
• Represent ESA in reviews and address non-conformances/anomalies.
• Coordinate procurement of electrical/EEE parts and processes.
• Ensure the software PA requirements are met.
• Prepare RAMS analyses to support project decisions.
• Monitor manufacturing, integration and test activities with QA audits.
• Support acceptance reviews of contract deliverables.
• Coordinate with safety authorities and ensure PA&S data packages are available.
• Provide PA&S support during launch, operation and service activities.
• Contribute to lessons learned and the quality management system.
• Support security activities as needed.
