Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Product Assurance & Safety (PA&S) Engineer assigned to the Navigation (NAV) Office to support the Galileo Second Generation project. You will ensure PA&S compliance, coordinate with project teams and safety authorities, and contribute to RAMS analyses throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires a master's degree in engineering with several years of relevant experience, and familiarity with ECSS standards and space-grade QA practices.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with space projects and ECSS standards is preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate across PA&S, project teams and safety authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Define or support programmatic and technical PA&S requirements in line with ESA policy.
  • Review contractors' PA&S plans and efforts for compliance with requirements.
  • Guide and monitor PA&S implementation by contractors and address actions.
  • Coordinate PA&S support for the project team during all lifecycle phases.
  • Represent ESA in reviews and non-conformance dispositions; monitor ECSS-based processes.
  • Ensure PA&S for electrical, electronic and electromechanical parts and software.
  • Prepare RAMS analyses and reports to support project decisions.
  • Monitor manufacturing, integration and test activities with QA audits and inspections.
  • Support acceptance reviews of deliverables and project assembly/verification.
