OpenShift Architect
For a leading international bank in the Netherlands, we are looking for an OpenShift Architect to help design, build, and evolve a secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade container platform. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the OpenShift strategy that supports mission‑critical banking applications used by millions of customers.
You will work at the intersection of architecture, platform engineering, security, and DevOps, acting as a technical authority for container platforms and cloud‑native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own the enterprise OpenShift architecture (on‑prem and/or cloud)
- Define standards, blueprints, and best practices for Kubernetes and container platforms
- Drive adoption of cloud‑native and DevOps principles across development teams
- Implement and guide CI/CD, GitOps, and automation strategies
- Ensure platform security, resilience, observability, and compliance with banking regulations
- Act as a trusted advisor to engineering teams and senior stakeholders
- Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the platform
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an OpenShift Architect or Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Experience with container security, networking, and storage
- Knowledge of CI/CD tooling, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience in large‑scale or regulated environments (banking or financial services is a plus)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or OpenShift certifications)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with service mesh, observability, and SRE practices
