Job summary

Samsung SDS Europe is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to design and implement customized logistics solutions that meet customer needs and improve operational efficiency. You will create cost models, analyze requirements, and present ROI-focused business cases to both customers and internal stakeholders.

The role involves collaboration across departments, support for European teams, and travel to client sites, with the main location in Tilburg, Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master's degree in supply chain management or Logistics.
• 5-8 years' relevant experience.
• Operational experience of the industry / LSP environment is a must; client-facing experience a plus.
• Hands-on mentality, eager to take initiative, create new opportunities and deliver targets.
• Willing to travel and adapt to different cultures.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Represent Samsung SDS towards operational stakeholders at (potential) customers.
• Define the most effective solutions by understanding and analyzing customer needs and translate these into a tailored warehousing concept.
• Create thorough cost models of the proposed solution, considering implementation costs, operating costs, savings and ROI.
• Present solutions and business cases to internal business owners for strategic decisions by management.
• Present proposed solutions towards the customer explaining benefits and addressing customer needs.
• Coordinate and collaborate with different departments to finalize the process design, capabilities and resources.
• Support local logistics teams throughout Europe and new business projects for Samsung SDS in Europe.

Role Summary

As a Solutions Design Engineer, you have a critical role in designing and implementing customized logistics solutions that meet customer needs, improve operational efficiency and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Samsung SDS towards operational stakeholders at (potential) customers
• Define the most effective solutions by understanding and analyzing customer needs, goals and challenges and translate these into a tailored warehousing concept.
• Create thorough cost models of the proposed solution, considering factors such as implementation costs, operational costs, potential savings and the overall return on investment (ROI).
• Present solutions and business cases to internal business owners to allow for strategic decisions to be made by management
• Present proposed solutions towards the customer explaining the benefits and addressing the customer needs
• Coordinate and collaborate with different departments to come to the desired process design, capabilities and resources
• Support local logistics teams throughout Europe
• Support new business projects for Samsung SDS in Europe.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor or master's degree in supply chain management or Logistics
• Minimum of 5-8 years' relevant experience
• Operational experience of the industry / LSP environment is a must, experience in a client-facing role a plus
• Conceptual and analytical thinker with the perseverance to finish what you started.
• Hands-on mentality, eager to take initiative, create new opportunities and deliver targets
• Open to other cultures and social environments
• A proficient level of English;
• AutoCAD is a preference
• Travelling will be required in this role
• Samsung SDS is located in Delft, Breda, Tilburg and Born, with subsidiaries all over Europe, to which you will also travel as well from time to time. Your main location will be Tilburg
