Job summary

Spot On Staffing is seeking a Solution Architect Finance to shape the architectural direction of financial solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment. You will ensure cohesive architecture across finance processes and maintain alignment with enterprise standards.

You will drive end-to-end design, govern architectural standards, and partner with Product Owners, SAP experts, and delivery partners to reach aligned decisions and ensure scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent education.
• Several years of IT architecture experience in large, complex environments.
• Strong SAP Finance knowledge within S/4HANA (GL, AR/AP, FA, CO, Tax, Period Close, Finance MD).
• Deep understanding of end-to-end financial processes, especially Record to Report.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, integration approaches, and IT governance.
• Proven ability to develop, shape and oversee end-to-end solutions impacting business processes.
• Experience modelling and communicating architectures with ArchiMate.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape and refine the Finance solution architecture for S/4HANA Finance and the Record to Report domain.
• Design and steer SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions ensuring required integrations and information flows.
• Translate business goals into scalable application and integration designs for end-to-end processes.
• Monitor governance, security, performance and maintainability across architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, SAP experts, application teams and external partners to align decisions.
• Provide architecture support to Agile and DevOps teams during implementation.

Job description

As a Solution Architect Finance, you will shape the architectural direction of financial solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment. You will connect business needs and strategic priorities with practical, scalable, and secure IT solutions, ensuring that applications, integrations, and business processes function together as a cohesive landscape.

The Finance domain operates across a complex S/4HANA environment with strong dependencies on other business areas and surrounding applications. In this role, you will oversee the consistency of the overall solution architecture and make sure that architectural decisions support current business requirements while providing a sustainable foundation for future development. You will focus on scalability, maintainability, integration, and alignment with established enterprise architecture principles.

Responsibilities

• Finance solution architecture: Shape and continuously refine the architecture for the Finance and Record to Report domains. Convert business goals and strategic priorities into practical architectural solutions and a clear direction for the technology landscape.
• S/4HANA Finance landscape: Design and steer solutions within the SAP S/4HANA Finance environment, ensuring that functional requirements, integrations, information flows, and connected applications operate as one coherent solution.
• End to end design: Assess business processes and functional requirements and translate them into scalable application and integration designs that support the entire Record to Report process.
• Architectural standards and governance: Monitor solution quality and ensure architectural decisions meet established principles and standards relating to security, integration, performance, maintainability, and IT governance.
• Stakeholder and integration alignment: Partner with Product Owners, business representatives, SAP experts, application and platform teams, and external delivery partners to reach aligned architectural decisions across the broader IT environment.
• Agile solution delivery: Provide architecture support to Agile and DevOps teams during implementation, helping teams make sound technical decisions while keeping delivered solutions consistent with the agreed architectural direction.

Skills and Qualifications

• Academic background at master's level or a comparable level of education.
• Several years of professional experience in IT architecture, with a strong focus on solution, application, and process architecture within large and complex environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of SAP Finance within an S/4HANA environment, with experience across General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Management Accounting, Product Costing, Tax, Period Close, and Finance Master Data.
• Strong understanding of end to end financial processes, with particular expertise in the Record to Report process area.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, business capabilities, integration approaches, and IT governance frameworks.
• Proven track record in developing, shaping, and overseeing end to end solutions that have a substantial influence on business processes and the broader organization.
• Practical experience with ArchiMate and its use for modelling, documenting, and communicating solution and enterprise architecture.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to make complex SAP and architecture related topics understandable to both technical specialists and business stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management capabilities and the confidence to engage with and influence senior stakeholders across both business and IT.
