Job summary

Doghouse Recruitment is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager for a growing SaaS organization in Utrecht. You will guide a cross-functional team of 4–6 engineers through a scaling phase, working closely with the tech lead to shape the future engineering organization and improve delivery.

Required: 8+ years in software engineering, 3+ years in engineering management, and a hands-on mindset (roughly 50/50).

Qualifications

• Experience scaling, restructuring or splitting engineering teams.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager for a growing SaaS organization in Utrecht. The company develops an innovative SaaS platform for the real estate sector, enabling real estate professionals to digitally manage and optimize their processes. The scalable product is used daily by more than 350 customers (In private & public sectors) in the real estate industry.

The international engineering team currently consists of 11 professionals and is entering an important next phase: transitioning from one team into two, and potentially three autonomous, cross-functional teams. You will work closely with the tech lead, who owns the technical direction, while you focusing on building high-performing teams!

We are looking for someone who has successfully guided this type of change before — someone who understands the challenges, has seen what can fail, and knows how to build high-performing teams. As a lead, you will help shape the future engineering organization by creating more ownership, improving delivery and enabling teams to work more autonomously.

You will focus on:

Who we are looking for

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.

• A background in C#/.NET and Azure is preferred. Experience with DevOps, Docker and Kubernetes is a plus, but other technical backgrounds are welcome.
