Job description

Trading Software Engineer - Amsterdam - C++ / Rust - HFT

As a C++ / Rust Developer in the Connectivity, you will design and build high-performance systems around core trading and risk frameworks. Think of low-latency exchange connectivity, with future opportunities to explore FPGA-based solutions.

Your work directly impacts trading performance. You will help ensure systems accurately handle risk, process market data, and respond dynamically to changing market conditions. The organization is gradually adopting Rust and FPGA implementation is on the roadmap. Furthermore, they promote a culture of active collaboration, initiative and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance C++ and/or Rust code with the following purpose:

  • The Connectivity team builds and maintains the technology connecting trading systems to exchanges and other market venues, including market-data feeds, order routing, and exchange protocols, with a strong focus on minimizing latency. They are also exploring the use of FPGAs to further reduce latency and improve the speed and efficiency of market-data and order processing.
You're expected to:
  • Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from other teams to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and system performance improvements
  • Support containerized deployments (Kubernetes) and production environments
  • Actively contribute to Agile ways of working, including participating in and potentially facilitating Sprint Planning, Poker Estimations, and Retrospectives
