Job summary

TNO is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Mission Simulation & Training group. You will turn innovative concepts into working software for the defence and security domain, including cloud-based environments and 3D model extraction, while collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.

You will translate ideas into prototypes, deploy backend and frontend solutions end-to-end, and engage stakeholders across projects.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Science, or related technical discipline preferred.
Several years of software development experience in multiple programming languages.
High standards for code quality and security; ability to explain complex systems on a whiteboard.
Proficiency in reading technical docs on networks, APIs, and interoperability standards.
Experience developing and deploying backend and frontend applications end-to-end; familiar with Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and issue tracking.

Responsibilities

Translate innovative ideas into working software within a multidisciplinary project team.
Develop prototypes to demonstrate new technologies and integrations.
Work across architecture, design, stakeholder management, testing, and validation phases.
Collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously and communicate clearly in Dutch and English.
Mentor and support colleagues while advancing your own professional development.
