TNO in The Hague seeks a team-oriented Scientist to advance mission autonomy for defence and security. You will translate research into prototypes, develop autonomous decision-making algorithms, and integrate modules across disciplines.

You bring MSc in a technical field, 2+ years of experience, strong Python skills, and proven collaboration. Dutch and English fluency are essential as you work with partners to deliver deployable solutions.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in a technical field as listed.
• At least two years of relevant work experience in a technical, research, or development environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive mindset and collaborative attitude: work with others and keep colleagues informed.

Responsibilities

• Proofs of Concept: translate academic insights into concrete solutions; develop prototypes for decision support and autonomous behavior.
• Algorithm Development: design and implement autonomous decision-making, planning, and situational awareness algorithms.
• System Integration: integrate modules into complete systems across disciplines and test in simulations and operational environments.
• Knowledge Sharing and Technical Leadership: present results, contribute to proposals, and shape strategy and vision.
