The Role

As a Software Engineer – Back-end, you’ll help build the core systems that power Dawnguard’s secure-by-design platform. You’ll work on backend services, infrastructure automation, and integrations that support our AI-driven architecture validation and IaC generation.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, product designers, and security experts to:

• Build scalable backend services and APIs for cloud automation
• Contribute to infrastructure modules across AWS and Azure
• Support integration of AI/ML models into backend workflows
• Help improve observability, performance, and resilience of the platform

Responsibilities

• Develop backend components using TypeScript or Python
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC templates
• Collaborate on architecture decisions and help shape the product roadmap
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security across backend services
• Participate in live code reviews and uphold high standards of code quality
• Champion a great developer experience through a test-driven and agile mindset

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in cloud or security domains
• Solid backend development skills (TypeScript, Python, APIs such as Express)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep)
• Proven experience building real-time data visualizations that drive actionable insights
• Strong background in data transformation and scalable architecture for large datasets
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and microservice-based systems
• Familiarity with observability tools and practices (e.g., metrics, logging, tracing) to ensure system reliability
• Bonus: Exposure to AI/ML concepts or cybersecurity frameworks
