Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Software Craftsperson/TypeScript- II based in the Netherlands to own end-to-end software initiatives, build scalable backends, and deliver production-ready features.

You’ll design AI-powered workflows with LLMs and agentic tooling, mentor peers, and contribute to engineering best practices in a remote-first environment. You’ll work with OpenAI, Claude, LangChain, and other AI ecosystems, while maintaining high quality and responsible AI standards across

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of owning and delivering complex production systems.
• Strong hands-on experience developing production-grade applications using TypeScript.
• Practical experience developing AI- or LLM-powered applications, including AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Experience with platforms such as OpenAI, Claude, or comparable LLM ecosystems.
• Experience with Mastra or similar LLM and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience building or integrating Chrome Extensions and browser-based apps.
• Understanding of Responsible AI principles, including evaluation, reliability, safety, privacy, and handling of AI-generated outputs.
• Experience using AI skills and tooling to extend the capabilities of AI agents.
• Strong system-design capabilities for scalable, maintainable, observable systems.
• Strong engineering practices: TDD, CI/CD, code reviews, refactoring, Agile/XP.
• Good understanding of REST and/or gRPC APIs, relational databases, performance optimization, VCS, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with clients and distributed teams; proactive issue resolution.
• Python experience is a plus for production AI/LLM systems.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, AI evaluation or observability tools, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform is advantageous.
• Experience with React.js or other modern frontend frameworks is a plus.

This is a remote opportunity for a hands‑on software engineer with 3-6 years of experience building scalable, production-grade systems. You'll take ownership across the software development lifecycle, from system design and implementation through testing and production readiness. The role combines strong TypeScript engineering with modern AI and LLM technologies, including agentic workflows and AI-powered applications. You'll work on complex, cross‑functional initiatives while applying software craftsmanship, Extreme Programming, and modern engineering practices.
