Job summary

Softpak is a Netherlands-based software company specializing in customs and logistics software. We are looking for a Software Consultant CDS (Customs Declaration System) in Ridderkerk to implement, optimize and expand our CDS for logistics clients.

You will visit customers at Rotterdam, Moerdijk and Vlissingen and translate complex customs processes into practical software solutions. You will join a close-knit team of six, collaborating with Support and Development to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in logistics or related field.
• Several years of experience with customs processes.
• Experience with customs systems or CDS software.
• Knowledge of Bonded Warehouse and Fiscal Representation is a plus.
• Fluent Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to reside in Ridderkerk/Rotterdam area.

Responsibilities

• Process optimization: guide customers through CDS issues and optimize processes via configuration.
• Implementation: guide customers through successful CDS module implementations.
• Consulting: advise on configuration and use of specific customs modules (DMS Import/Export, NCTS Transit/Arrival, T2L(F) PoUS, EMCS Inbound/Outbound).
• Supply chain integrations: advise on integrations with NVWA, Chamber of Commerce Certificates of Origin, Portbase MID/MED/CVB.
• Integrations: support ERP-Softpak CDS interfaces.
• Administrative process optimization: streamline orders, invoicing, and customer reporting.

Softpak is an innovative software company operating in the logistics sector, based in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. We provide integrated customs and logistics software solutions for port-related companies, including shipping lines and ship agents, logistics service providers, customs brokers, container terminals and depots.

The role:

As a Software Consultant CDS (Customs Declaration System), you are the key point of contact for the implementation, optimisation and expansion of our customs software. With your knowledge of customs and logistics processes, you understand the challenges our customers face and know how to translate their needs into practical software solutions.

You will regularly visit customers and companies operating in the Netherlands’ key logistics hubs, such as Rotterdam, Moerdijk and Vlissingen.

Together with a close-knit team of six colleagues, and working closely with our Support and Development teams, you will be responsible for the success of each project from A to Z.

What will you do?

• Procesoptimalisation: You guide customers through complex issues relating to the CDS modules they already use. You help them optimise your processes by making smart use of system configuration, templates and mapping functionalities.
• Implementation: You guide customers through the successful implementation and adoption of new CDS modules.
• Consulting: You advise customers on the configuration and use of specific customs modules, including DMS Import/Export, NCTS Transit/Arrival, T2L(F) PoUS and EMCS Inbound/Outbound.
• Supply chain-specific integrations: You advise customers on integrations with the NVWA (Client Import and Client Export), Chamber of Commerce Certificates of Origin and Portbase MID/MED/CVB.
• Integrations: You support customers with interfaces between their own ERP systems and Softpak CDS.
• Administrative proces optimisation: You help customers streamline their overall administration processes, from receiving assignments and sending order confirmations to invoicing and customer reporting.

You recognise yourself in the following profile:

• A bachelor’s degree (HBO) or STC qualification in logistics, business administration or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent working and thinking level.
• Several years of relevant work experience gained at a customs broker, a company handling customs processes in-house, or a customs software provider.
• Experience with or in-depth knowledge of customs systems. Experience with systems such as Softpak CDS, Fiton, Gateway or Stream Software is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of Bonded Warehouse (Entrepot) administration and Fiscal Representation is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• Living in the Ridderkerk/Rotterdam area.
