Job summary

Lely is seeking a Software Architect to shape the technical direction of our ecosystem, working with software engineers, product teams and other technical disciplines to design scalable solutions.

This hands-on, architecture‑driven role guides decisions across frontend, backend, integrations and platform domains, while coaching teams and contributing to key implementations. The position offers a hybrid work model and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience as Software Architect, Lead Engineer or Senior Software Engineer with architectural responsibilities.
• Broad understanding of frontend, backend, APIs, cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
• Experience designing scalable architectures in complex environments and balancing innovation with constraints.

Responsibilities

• Defining and evolving end-to-end software architectures across frontend, backend, integrations, and platform domains.
• Supporting development teams in architectural decisions and balancing business needs with technical quality.
• Contributing hands-on to solution design, prototyping, and critical implementations.
• Driving continuous improvements in scalability, modularity, debt reduction and software quality.
• Coaching and mentoring engineers to strengthen architectural thinking.
• Collaborating with Product, UX, Data and Platform teams to deliver value for customers.
• Exploring AI-powered engineering to adopt practical technologies.
