TNO invites engineers to join the Naval and Offshore Structures department in Delft to advance safety-centric ship design through advanced modelling and analysis. You will work on vulnerability, fire dynamics, and crew interaction with automation in a multidisciplinary team.

You will apply numerical methods, develop simulation tools, and contribute to client projects and publications while expanding your expertise in maritime safety challenges and structural dynamics.

Qualificações

• MSc in a relevant engineering discipline ( Naval Architecture / Aerospace / Mechanical / Applied Physics / Civil ).
• Strong theoretical foundation with practical numerical methods experience.
• Excellent communication, customer focus and results orientation; collaborative mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and apply simulation models to assess damage and emergency scenarios, focusing on crew performance and automation.
• Investigate how future ship designs stay resilient to damage and how crews respond in incidents.
• Develop, validate, and apply fire models to predict ignition and spread on ships; assess effects on ammo storage and firefighting systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients; contribute to publications and knowledge sharing.
