Job summary

Shell invites motivated students to join the Shell Assessed Internship Programme in the Netherlands, spanning technical and commercial areas across Rotterdam, The Hague, Pernis or Amsterdam. You will work on meaningful projects with a supervisor and mentor guiding your development from day one.

You will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and have regular assessments to maximise learning and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• You must be studying towards your Master’s in the Netherlands (WO level).
• There are no specific academic requirements for grades, however we expect candidates to have a strong academic record.
• You must be lawfully authorized to work in the country you’re applying for.

• You’ll have full day-to-day involvement in actual projects, selected to match your interests and abilities.
• You’ll join a project team and work alongside Shell employees who are professionals in their fields.
• A supervisor and mentor will support you directly and you’ll undertake regular assessments throughout your internship.
• As part of the Assessed Internship, you’ll have a formal mid-term review with your supervisor and mentor.
• At the close of your internship, you will be asked to prepare a presentation about your project and there will be discussion on project delivery and performance by your supervisor and mentor.
• Work on projects that have a real business impact over a 3-12 month internship.
• Practical experience of the theories and concepts you have learned.

Eligibility

You should enjoy being challenged and welcome the opportunity to be innovative. You also need to be good at absorbing information, analysing problems, making objective decisions, and coming up with original ideas. You should have the drive, and resilience to get things done, the flexibility to work well as part of a team and the credibility to influence others. As you'll be assessed entirely on how well you perform during your internship, you could even secure an offer to join Shell full-time when you graduate - without the need for a further interview.
