Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Setting out engineer to join a major construction project in Amsterdam. You will translate technical drawings and model set-out files into precise on-site locations, supporting below-ground infrastructure and high-spec fit-out.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, 5+ years setting out experience (pharma/data centre preferred), proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble and Microsoft Office, and strong surveying techniques

Qualifications

• Right to work in the Netherlands.
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of setting out experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software (Civil 3D desirable), Trimble and Microsoft Office for managing technical data and reports.
• Strong understanding of site surveying techniques, accuracy checks, and structural layouts.
• Experience in reinforced concrete.

Job Purpose:

I am currently seeking an experienced Setting out engineer to join a major construction project in Amsterdam. Responsible for getting the construction site ready for development. This can include working with detailed site plans and translating technical drawings and model set-out files into precise physical locations on-site for construction, below ground infrastructure, FRC structural works, fit-out, typically within a high-spec environment.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying: Using Surveying equipment (total stations, GPS).
• Accuracy: Working with site plans, drawings and building information models.
• Site Operations: Managing site operations, including maintaining health and safety standards, managing subcontractors, and documenting daily progress.
• Collaboration: Liaising with client managers, project engineers, and subcontractors to ensure design implementation and resolve discrepancies, often participating in site, engineering, and planning meetings.
• QAQC: Assisting with quality control and quality assurance.

Requirements:

• Right to work in the Netherlands.
• A relevant degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of setting out experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or data centre projects.Proficiency in AutoCAD software (Civil 3D desirable), Trimble and Microsoft Office for managing technical data and reports.

• Degree or equivalent in construction/building management, engineering, construction engineering management or civil/structural engineering.
• Experience in reenforced concrete.
• 5+ years’ experience in constructions and engineering.
• Travel can be self-managed or supported every 4 weeks.
