Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Setting out engineer to join a major construction project in Amsterdam. You will translate technical drawings and model set-out files into precise on-site locations, supporting below-ground infrastructure and high-spec fit-out.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, 5+ years setting out experience (pharma/data centre preferred), proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble and Microsoft Office, and strong surveying techniques

Qualifications

• Right to work in the Netherlands.
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of setting out experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software (Civil 3D desirable), Trimble and Microsoft Office for managing technical data and reports.
• Strong understanding of site surveying techniques, accuracy checks, and structural layouts.
• Experience in reinforced concrete.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying using surveying equipment (total stations, GPS).
• Accuracy: working with site plans, drawings and BIM.
• Site Operations: managing site operations, health and safety standards, subcontractors, and daily progress documentation.
• Collaboration: liaising with client managers, project engineers and subcontractors to ensure design implementation and resolve discrepancies.
• QAQC: assisting with quality control and quality assurance.
