Job summary

Siemens Gamesa in the Netherlands seeks an entry-level Wind Farm Service Technician to start a career in the wind industry. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job training to maintain and service wind turbine technology, perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs under supervision.

Joining our Wind Farm Service Team means working safely with EHS protocols and using tools to keep turbines running reliably.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical training preferred.
• Vocational wind energy or related mechanical/electrical training is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency; willingness to learn safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbines (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions under guidance.
• Execute basic repairs and component replacements with tools and equipment.
• Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety protocols (LOTO, etc.).
• Participate in on-the-job training and collaborate with team members.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in turbine systems under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Execute basic repairs and component replacements using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Adhere strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Actively participate in on-the-job training and collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED; an Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate in Wind Energy or a related mechanical/electrical field is preferred.
• Vocational education in electrical/technical (MBO 3/4) or equivalent work experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools and power tool operation.
• Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems, along with troubleshooting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
