Overview

We are looking for a Service Engineer to join Value Maritime’s team based in the Netherlands. Your job is to be their (wo)man in the field installing, maintaining and servicing large equipment on ocean going vessels on-site. Value Maritime’s technology is still relatively new but it’s proven and there is a lot to win in the shipping and carbon capture market. Using your technical knowledge (mechanical and electrical) you deliver the best possible installation, while maintaining a comprehensive overview and keeping in close touch with the Site Manager on the job and the Project Manager back in the office.

On behalf of Value Maritime, MARPRO is looking for Service Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Installing and calibrating the systems at different locations
• Ensuring the quality of the systems
• Periodic maintenance
• Resolving unexpected malfunctions
• Maintaining good contacts with the crew
• During vessel visits, acting as the technical representative and providing technical assistance and advice to the crew
• Instructing the crew on the operation of the system for daily use
• Remote support from warehouse or home when not aboard, including communication with the ship’s crew to solve issues onboard

Qualifications / Personal Characteristics

• Maritime background (Maroff is a plus)
• Intrinsic motivation to foster a green future
• Technical education level (preferably in electrical and mechanical engineering)
• Ability to work with the ship\'s crew
• Willingness for adventure and creative problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English, as you will be working abroad 50% of the time
