Van der Leun is een internationaal opererend bedrijf dat elektrische installaties en componenten voor schepen levert. De Service & Commissioning Engineer voert zelfstandig service- en inbedrijfstellingswerk uit aan elektrische installaties aan boord en repareert storingen aan sensoren en bekabeling.

Nieuwe installaties worden ook geïninameerd en getest; reizen naar klanten wereldwijd hoort erbij.

Qualifications

• Enige jaren ervaring in een vergelijkbare functie in maritieme industrie.
• Goede beheersing van Engels in woord en geschrift.
• Kennis van standaarden, veiligheid en inspectie-eisen.

Responsibilities

• Voer zelfstandige service- en inbedrijfstellingswerkzaamheden uit aan elektrische installaties aan boord van schepen.
• Diagnoseer en herstel storing aan sensoren, kabels, kastjes en andere onderdelen.
• Voer inbedrijfstelling uit van nieuwe installaties (bijv. batterijsystemen, hybride systemen).
• Test bekabeling, sensoren en systemen op juiste werking; identificeer en verhelp storingen.
• Reis wereldwijd om klanten te helpen en rapportages op te stellen.

What is your challenge as a Service & Commissioning Engineer?

As a Service & Commissioning Engineer you independently carry out commissioning and service and maintenance work on electrical installations on board ships.

You resolve malfunctions in sensors, cabling, system cabinets and other installation parts by replacing parts, adjusting settings, repairing parts, etc. You actively think along with problems that have arisen. Afterwards you prepare the service reports.

You will also commission new installations to be delivered, such as battery systems, hybrid installations, hoisting and propulsion installations . You test the cabling, sensors and systems for proper functioning. You detect sources of interference and, of course, you also remedy them.

Ships can be anywhere in the world at the time of a failure. You are therefore prepared to board the plane at any time to help the client get back on track as quickly as possible.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A completed education in Electrical Engineering
• Several years of work experience in a similar position (maritime industry)
• Knowledge of dredging technology and processes, automation technology (basic knowledge), high voltage technology (basic knowledge)
• VCA-Vol or you are willing to obtain this
• Knowledge of standards, safety regulations, quality and inspection requirements
• Knowledge of the English language in word and writing

THIS IS WHAT WE OFFER YOU

• We work under the Collective Labor Agreement for Metal and Technology (cao Metaal en Techniek). You will receive a competitive salary between € 2,900 and € 3,600 gross per month based on a full-time employment contract, depending on knowledge and experience. You will receive good compensation for working abroad. You are entitled to a travel allowance and 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days (based on a full-time employment).
• You will also be registered with the Pension Fund Foundation for Metal and Technology (PMT) and you will have the opportunity to participate in the collective health insurance. You get a laptop and a mobile phone.
• Your own children can claim a contribution towards the study costs from our Study Fund. If you want to follow a training or course, we reimburse these costs from our study costs regulations.
