Hotel Okura Amsterdam invites motivated hospitality students to join its Serre Restaurant as an internship trainee. You will assist in delivering exceptional service in a renowned five-star setting and gain hands-on experience in a cross-cultural environment that blends Eastern and Western influences.

What can you expect?

Restaurant Serre opened in 2011 and has been awarded a Bib Gourmand for its excellent price-quality ratio. Guests are welcome here all day, whether they come for a business lunch, a well-deserved glass of wine, a delicious dinner with friends or a festive gathering with family. The menu is an international mix of both classic and innovative dishes.

Responsibilities

As a trainee you are responsible for offering excellent service in our Serre Restaurant. Amongst other tasks, you are responsible for advising and guiding guests, and offering service at a very high level! Your main tasks will be:

• Offering service to guests;
• Having good knowledge of the menu;
• Performing mise en place activities;
• Confirming reservations;
• Having basic knowledge of coffee, tea, (strong) alcoholic beverages and wine;
• Welcoming and guiding guests.

You will work in shifts throughout 7 days per week. Your working hours are between 09:00 and 24:00. You will work 5 days per week, 8 hours per day including a 30-minute break. You will also be required to work on public holidays.
