Job summary

Vattenfall is seeking a Lead Technical Specialist Windturbines to support our operational wind farms across the region. You will act as a key technical specialist for WTGs, BoP, SCADA, and electrical systems, collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Technical Support to reduce losses and improve asset performance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, non-conformity investigations, data analysis for optimisation, and supporting maintenance, retrofits, and commissioning as required.

Qualifications

• Proven technical experience within the Wind industry, preferably with Wind Turbine Generators and related systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, structured approach.
• Ability to collaborate across operational and technical teams and build relationships.
• Experience with MS Office and SAP, or ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional technical expertise in Wind Turbines, SCADA, electrical systems, and BoP infrastructure.
• Support operational sites in troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical problem solving.
• Investigate non-conformities and implement preventive measures to improve asset reliability.
• Drive improvement initiatives to reduce production losses and enhance performance.
• Analyse operational and maintenance data to identify trends and optimisation opportunities.
• Support maintenance activities across WTGs, foundations, and related equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Support to resolve complex challenges.
• Contribute to retrofit projects, testing programmes, and new technology implementations.
• Develop and improve service and troubleshooting documentation.
• Support commissioning activities for new wind farm sites when required.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across wind farms and projects.
• Provide input to Planning & Optimisation, Asset Management, and Project teams.
• Contribute to operational readiness and transitions out of warranty.
