Job description

In our Vision/AI Center of Competency, we are hiring a Senior Vision/AI Engineer. The ASMPT Center of Competency, located in the Netherlands, is responsible for identifying new high-tech innovation opportunities for the full global ASMPT product portfolio.

The equipment portfolio of ASMPT covers the complete back-end section of the semiconductor equipment market and offers comprehensive assembly and advanced packaging solutions for its customers in the fields of optoelectronics, electronics, solar energy, automotive and other segments.

Machine learning and Artificial intelligence in general are key new technologies that will transform our business in a profound way. ASMPT is embracing these new technologies and we are always looking out for strong candidates to grow our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design ML / Computer Vision solutions for advanced visual and multi-modal inspection tasks.
• Stay up to date in the field of Machine learning / Artificial intelligence and transfer state of the art techniques to ASMPT industrial vision applications.
• Growing and maintaining a strong Dutch/European innovation network with the high-tech equipment industry as well as with knowledge centers like the various Technical Universities in the domain of AI/machine learning.
• Understanding and translating the needs from the various ASMPT product groups in Asia and matching these needs with high-tech innovation opportunities for local network partners. Travel to these various ASMPT groups in Hong Kong and Singapore as needed.
• Responsible for managing the successful introduction of technical innovations in existing or new ASMPT products. Short time-to-market is key.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering technical leadership and cross-domain collaboration.

THIS IS YOU

• An academic degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, or another relevant academic technical background
• >10 years of job experience
• Demonstrated experience of Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and related applications
• Preferred knowledge of AI/Vision applications to precision industries
• Knowledge of deep learning theory and practice
• Python or C++ programming experience
• Familiar with the rapidly developing field of Machine learning & Deep learning techniques that drive innovations in the industrial vision application area
• Motivated by innovation opportunities in the field of AI and vision and driven by technical content
• Creative out-of-the box thinker
• A keen eye for relevant innovations in the respective field of expertise. Sensitive to new IP opportunities
• Reach out for innovation opportunities, self-propelling
