Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in iOS to join the CNN Connected TV Engineering team. You will work with autonomy, own complex technical challenges, and mentor others while shaping the team’s technical direction.

You will contribute to the strategy and engineering best practices for CNN’s Connected TV apps, focusing on Apple TV and the Apple ecosystem, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of programming experience in Swift or similar language.
• Experience building consumer iOS/tvOS apps.
• Knowledge of UIKit; SwiftUI is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience building apps using RESTful APIs across front-end to back-end.
• Experience with large-scale app architecture, performance tuning, and testability.
• Experience with DevOps/SRE practices including CI/CD and monitoring.
• Strong CS fundamentals in OOD, algorithms and problem solving.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical docs and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, customer-facing features across CNN’s tvOS apps.
• Own complex technical work and guide architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Delivery leaders to translate initiatives into scalable solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to coding standards and documentation.
• Participate in sprint planning and prioritize feature delivery, architecture improvements and bug fixes.
