Job summary

Thorizon is seeking an experienced thermal-hydraulics specialist to lead CFD analyses and system-level studies for reactor design. You will translate engineering questions into models and simulations, select appropriate tools, and validate results to support safety and performance decisions.

The role offers working across Amsterdam and Lyon offices, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and opportunities to advance nuclear technology through evolving experiments and validation activities.

Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in a technical field related to nuclear engineering or fluid mechanics.
8+ years of professional experience in thermal-hydraulics, CFD or reactor engineering.
Strong hands-on CFD experience with RANS/LES/DES.
Experience with OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, Fluent or similar tools.
Ability to design multiscale/multiphysics computational workflows.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver thermal-hydraulics analyses that support reactor and system design decisions.
Translate questions into appropriate hydraulic models and simulations.
Select modelling approaches balancing accuracy and project needs.
Perform CFD and system-level studies and critically assess results.
Develop workflows and validate models per industry standards.
