Job summary

Applied Microelectronics AME in Eindhoven is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop and validate customized test systems for new products and manufacturing processes.

You will analyze technical challenges, identify root causes, and translate product requirements into effective test strategies. You take ownership of the design, validation, verification, qualification, and documentation of test systems, while collaborating with project teams across electronics, mechanics and software.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in test development or test engineering.
• Strong electronics and/or mechatronics background.
• Experience with developing, validating, and qualifying automated or industrial test systems.
• Good understanding of test strategies, coverage, automated testing, and Design for Testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate root causes.
• Ability to analyze complex technical challenges independently.
• Experience with risk analysis, verification, validation, and safety considerations.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve customized test systems for new products and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze technical problems, investigate root causes, and develop effective and sustainable solutions.
• Translate product and customer requirements into effective test strategies, specifications, and test solutions.
• Identify technical risks early and define appropriate measures to mitigate them.
• Take ownership of the technical design, realization, validation, verification, qualification, and documentation of test systems.
• Make technical decisions within your area of expertise and independently solve complex or unclear problems.
• Perform pre-studies, feasibility investigations, and problem analyses to support technical and project decisions.
• Apply Design for Testing principles and contribute to FMEA and other technical or safety risk assessments.
• Ensure test systems meet relevant quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the deployment of test systems into production and provide second-line support for troubleshooting and improvement.
• Share knowledge, apply lessons learned, and contribute to improving test development practices.
