Harnham in Rotterdam is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to own automated testing architecture across a complex platform. You will design, build, and maintain end-to-end test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript, and establish API and contract testing strategies.

You will work with CI/CD pipelines, ensure high-quality software delivery, collaborate with software engineers and product teams, and contribute to continuous improvement in engineering practices in a fast-growing

The Role

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will take ownership of automated testing architecture and quality assurance processes across a complex platform environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript
• Establishing API and contract testing strategies to ensure reliability across services and integrations
• Defining quality standards and testing requirements early in the development lifecycle
• Optimising CI/CD pipelines to deliver fast, reliable feedback to engineering teams
• Developing automated regression testing to reduce production risk and improve platform resilience
• Working closely with software engineers and product teams to embed quality throughout the development process
• Supporting best practices in automated testing, integration testing, and quality engineering
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and tooling

Your Skills & Experience

You will bring:

• Strong commercial experience in software test automation within modern web application environments
• Experience building and maintaining end-to-end testing frameworks
• Knowledge of API testing, contract testing, REST services, and JSON-based integrations
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions or similar tooling
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and automated quality assurance practices
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical solutions
• A collaborative approach with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Interest in AI-enabled software development and modern engineering practice
