Job summary

Databricks is seeking a software engineer on the Storage and IO team to build the next generation cloud storage I/O platform, enabling fast and reliable reads and writes across cloud storage systems.

You will work on low level systems, OS and network stacks, and contribute to distributed data systems like Apache Spark and Hadoop.

Qualifications include a BS in CS, 8+ years in Java/Scala/C++, and a track record delivering production systems with strong algorithms.

Qualifications

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
• Motivated by delivering customer value and impact.
• 8+ years of production level experience in either Java, Scala or C++.
• Experience with low level systems (OS, network stacks, CPU optimizations).
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases.
• Experience with distributed systems, databases, and big data systems (Apache Spark, Hadoop).
