Job summary

Databricks in Amsterdam designs and operates the next generation data and AI platform, building scalable storage and processing systems for complex workloads from ETL to data science. As a software engineer on the Runtime team, you will contribute to distributed components that power millions of virtual machines.

We value a BS in CS or related field and 8+ years of production experience in Java/Scala/C++, with a strong foundation in algorithms and distributed systems like Spark and Hadoop.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala or C++.
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with distributed systems, databases and big data systems (Spark, Hadoop).

Responsibilities

• Build the next generation distributed data storage and processing systems.
• Improve performance and scalability for diverse workloads from ETL to data science.
• Contribute to runtime components powering large-scale data platforms.
