BIQH Financial Data Services is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Microsoft SQL Server) to join our operations team in the Netherlands. You will ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of our SQL Server environment and work closely with developers and architects to optimize the database infrastructure for a growing Market Data Platform.

Your responsibilities include monitoring, tuning, and improving SQL statements, as well as planning upgrades and migrations.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, and administration.
• Experience monitoring SQL Server activity and identifying performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and execution plans.
• Experience improving SQL import processes, ETL statements, and database performance.
• Experience planning and executing SQL Server upgrades and migrations is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of indexing strategies, statistics, maintenance plans, backup & recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsabilités

• Optimize and maintain our SQL Server environment (70% of your time).
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and execution plans.
• Monitor database health and implement best practices for performance and security.
• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations to newer SQL Server versions.
• Contribute ideas for improving database architecture and scalability.
