Job summary

Backbase in Amsterdam is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to lead the integration of BankingOS with bank technology stacks and to design enterprise-grade digital and agentic banking solutions. You will combine architectural expertise with hands-on development, working with AI agents, APIs, data and security requirements to craft prototypes and production-ready patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience designing complex enterprise solutions for customer-facing architecture.
• Hands-on with AI applications and agent workflows.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise integration, APIs, event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Java/Spring and cloud platforms.
• Understanding security, privacy and resilience in regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Work with bank technology teams to shape architecture.
• Design BankingOS integrations via APIs, events and patterns.
• Define how AI agents access data and tools with controls.
• Address AI limitations, testing and traceability.
• Build prototypes with AI agents and integrations.
• Plan production with security, performance and cost.
• Lead architecture workshops and technical evaluations.
• Mentor colleagues and share architecture patterns.
• Contribute customer feedback to product development.
