Job summary

Mendix, a Siemens company, is seeking a senior software leader for our Governance domain in Rotterdam. You will own critical platform components, drive secure identity, entitlement, and usage metering, and shape architecture at scale.

You will mentor peers, lead by example, and collaborate across Mendix and Siemens teams to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions using Java, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker. A proactive, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant professional software development experience with strong Java proficiency.
• Experience with Python and/or Keycloak is a strong plus.
• Proven track record of designing and building reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
• A strong "you build it, you run it" attitude, taking full responsibility for your code from development to production.

Our Governance teams handle a critical and intricate domain that is fundamental to our customers' success. This involves ensuring robust entitlements, precise usage metering, secure user access, reliable identity management and enterprise tenant management. We empower customers with clear insight into their platform usage and the tools to act decisively.

While our teams operate with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll be part of an encouraging and collaborative network. You’ll need to work closely with other teams across Mendix, especially since many Governance topics inherently span multiple teams and services across the platform.

We are strong advocates of our own technology; therefore, a keen interest in the Mendix low-code stack is essential. We are a hybrid company and expect you to join the office one to two days a week. More is never a problem.

Qualifications

• Significant professional software development experience with strong Java proficiency. Experience with Python and/or Keycloak is a strong plus.
• A proven track record of designing and building reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
• A strong "you build it, you run it" attitude, taking full responsibility for your code from development to production.
• The ability to lead by technical example, mentoring peers and influencing architectural decisions.
• A commitment to working with the Mendix low-code application development suite, dedicating majority of your time to this domain.
• A proactive approach to navigating ambiguity and accepting complex challenges, balancing innovation with pragmatic delivery.
• The discernment to select the optimal tools and languages for the problem at hand. Our stack includes Java, Python.
• Experience with Cloud providers like AWS and solid understanding of Kubernetes/Docker, or an eagerness to learn and master these technologies.
• Approachable and open-minded, encouraging positive team dynamics.
• Driven by a desire for mastery and continuous improvement in your craft.
• Proactive and take full ownership of your responsibilities.
• A critical thinker with a creative, solution-oriented approach.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is €80-90,000 annually, and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
