Job summary

Priva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Control Systems / IoT) to design and implement the core logic linking embedded devices, edge gateways, and cloud platforms. You will create reliable, scalable control systems that improve system uptime and energy efficiency.

You will join an experienced team of control engineers and an architect, contributing to climate‑control and building automation solutions across global markets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer / Backend Engineer / Control Systems Engineer.
• Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building reliable, production‑grade systems.
• Knowledge of modular architecture, CI/CD pipelines, code quality and testing practice.
• Experience with control logic / rule engines / automation workflows and distributed or resilient systems.
• Nice to have IoT platforms (MQTT, Node-RED), Python, building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX), Embedded Linux, Edge computing, OTA updates and IoT security practices.

Responsibilities

Job requirements

What you’ll do

• 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer / Backend Engineer / Control Systems Engineer

• Strong experience with: Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript

• Experience building reliable, production‑grade systems

• Knowledge of: Modular architecture CI/CD pipelines Code quality & testing practice

• Experience with: Control logic / rule engines / automation workflows Distributed or resilient systems Strong communication skills and ownership mindset

• Nice to have

  • Experience with IoT platforms (MQTT, Node‑RED)
  • Python (automation / testing)
  • Knowledge of building automation protocols: BACnet Modbus KNX
