Job summary

Mars, Incorporated in Veghel, Netherlands, is seeking a Rapid Spectroscopy Senior Scientist to lead development, implementation, and governance of the rapid spectroscopy calibration portfolio across all Segments, ensuring robust quality control for raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in science.
• Proven record of Near Infrared Spectroscopy technology experience within chemometrics, spectroscopy or statistical analysis fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or academic laboratory on spectroscopy.
• Team player with strong customer focus.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Application & Procedure Development: create, validate, and deploy new spectroscopy applications for quality control at all stages.
• Project Management: execute complex development projects focused on new chemometric techniques and improving support processes.
• Communicate effectively with client groups about rapid spectroscopy model updates to prevent disruption of local operations.
• Ensure on-time delivery of global network performance metrics and report to Leadership Teams.
• Stay current with advancements in spectroscopy by reviewing literature and attending conferences.
• Collaborate with central and regional laboratory Rapid Spectroscopy community to support new instrument installation and troubleshooting.
• Consult on customer requests about rapid spectroscopy capabilities to ensure on-plan, on-time projects.
