Job summary

European Space Agency in Noordwijk is seeking a SatCom Systems and Payload Lead for the Novacom I / OneSat partnership. You will own the end-to-end development, validation and performance of the telecommunications payload and the associated ground segment, coordinating with industrial partners and satellite operators to ensure mission success.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive reviews, set requirements and budgets, and report on progress within ECSS standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering is required for this post with four years of relevant professional experience.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree plus four years of relevant professional experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, qualification, on-ground verification and in-orbit validation of telecom payloads and ground-segment software tools.
• Define and maintain payload and end-to-end system requirements, specifications, budgets, interfaces and operational concepts.
• Act as technical point of contact and interface with industrial prime contractor, satellite operator and partners; make decisions on payload and ground-segment matters.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team and liaise with ESA directorates, industry, operators and space agencies.
