Job summary

DataSnipper in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Billing & Monetization to join our Billing team. You will own real-time metering, pricing logic, and integrations with Stripe and ERP to drive revenue and accuracy.

This hands-on role emphasizes correctness and scale, with Python on Azure, cross-functional collaboration with Product, Finance and Sales, and a path to shape the future of our agentic platform, Alwin.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with backend focus.
• Experience building billing, metering, licensing or entitlement systems.
• Data-driven web APIs and distributed systems on a major cloud platform.
• Strong financial correctness: idempotency, reconciliation and audit trails.
• Strong fundamentals in software architecture, system design and data modelling.
• Product mindset: activation, conversion and revenue focus.
• Ability to work with Finance and commercial teams to define what 'correct' means.
• Proficient with AI-assisted engineering (Claude Code).
• Excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Metering & Billing: Build real-time usage metering and credit consumption.
• Design pricing and rating logic for seats, usage, credits and enterprise terms.
• Integrate with billing, payment and finance systems (Stripe, CRM, ERP) and keep reconciled.
• Licensing & Onboarding: Build the entitlements service.
• Own the onboarding flow end-to-end: sign-up, trials, provisioning, SSO and SCIM.
• Instrument activation and conversion, and reduce friction with Product.
• Engineering & Collaboration: Build systems where correctness is non-negotiable.
• Own end-to-end from design to production in Python on Azure to frontend.
• Influence across functions: work with Product, Finance, Sales and Customer Success.
• Raise the bar through code reviews and mentoring.
