The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in revenue controls, strong IFRS/US GAAP knowledge, and hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, Salesforce).

Qualifications

  • We expect a senior candidate with 8+ years in Revenue controls, revenue accounting or OTC.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS revenue recognition concepts.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce and ERP integrations.
  • Big Four background and professional accounting qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Controller, preferably including experience at a Big Four accounting firm, to serve as the owner of the company’s revenue-related processes, systems, and accounting data. This is a highly cross-functional individual contributor role responsible for ensuring alignment across revenue recognition, billing, contracts, systems, accounting, tax, credit management, and reporting. This person will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Legal, Revenue Operations and IT teams to ensure that contracts, systems, and accounting treatments are accurately reflected and fully integrated.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Revenue Ownership & Accounting
    • Own and oversee revenue-related accounting processes from contract execution through cash collection.
    • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards (US GAAP).
    • Review customer contracts and commercial arrangements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition implications.
    • Serve as the primary owner and trusted expert for revenue-related accounting numbers and reporting.
    • Partner with External Reporting, FP&A, Tax, and external auditors on revenue-related matters.
  • Revenue Systems, Data & Process Transformation
    • Act as the Accounting and Controllership owner for revenue-related data flows, systems, and processes impacting financial reporting.
    • Ensure that all components of the Order-to-Cash (OTC) ecosystem, including CRM (e.g. Sales Force), contract management, billing, collections, commissions, ERP (NetSuite) are appropriately designed and integrated to support accurate accounting and reporting under US GAAP.
    • Partner with Billing, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Revenue Operations, FP&A, Sales, Rewards and IT teams to ensure that transactions and data generated across the OTC lifecycle are complete, accurate, and properly reflected in the accounting records.
    • Lead the transformation and continuous improvement of revenue-related processes, controls and system architecture to reduce manual accounting effort, increase automation and strengthen the control environment.
    • Establish and monitor end-to-end controls over revenue recognition, commissions, credit notes, impairment calculations, commissions and other revenue-related accounting areas.
    • Identify gaps in processes, data quality, system integrations, and controls that could impact accounting accuracy, and drive remediation initiatives across functional teams.
    • Serve as the Finance and Accounting representative in major system implementation and transformation projects (e.g. Salesforce) and related revenue systems.
    • Partner with External Reporting, FP&A, Accounting, Tax, and other stakeholders to define revenue-related data and reporting requirements, ensuring systems and processes provide complete, accurate and auditable information for US GAAP reporting and decision-making.
    • Define accounting and reporting requirements for system implementations and enhancements, perform testing and validation, and ensure accounting outcomes are compliant with US GAAP.
    • Oversee and perform reconciliation (BlackLine) and validation of data flows between source systems, subledgers, and the general ledger, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness.
    • Drive the development of scalable processes and system capabilities that support growth while maintaining strong governance, compliance, and financial control.
  • Revenue-Related Accounting Oversight
    • Review customer contracts and commercial arrangements to ensure accounting, revenue recognition, billing, tax, and reporting requirements are appropriately captured and reflected in financial systems.
    • Partner with Billing, Tax, Legal, Credit, and Finance teams to ensure contract modifications, credit notes, refunds, indirect taxes, and other revenue-related transactions are accounted for accurately and in accordance with US GAAP.
    • Ensure timely and accurate accounting for expected credit losses, bad debt provisions, sales commissions, and other revenue-related reserves and estimates.
    • Monitor revenue-related balances and trends, identify accounting risks or data quality issues, and drive corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
    • Establish controls and validation procedures to ensure revenue-related accounting outputs are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the key liaison between Accounting, Sales, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, IT and external service providers.
    • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation of contracts, billing requirements, and accounting policies.
    • Support internal and external audit requests related to revenue, billing, systems, and controls.
We expect you to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Revenue Controls, Revenue Accounting, OTC, Revenue Operations, or related finance functions.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles under IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Experience managing complex revenue streams, customer contracts, billing processes, and accounting implications.
  • Strong understanding of ERP (NetSuite), CRM (Salesforce), billing, and revenue management systems.
  • Experience leading or supporting system implementations and integrations.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of critical processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
It will be an added bonus if you have:
  • Experience with a Big Four accounting firm (Audit, Advisory or Accounting Advisory Services).
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), and revenue automation tools.
  • Experience in high-growth, multinational or technology-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of subscription, usage-based, SaaS, cloud, or recurring revenue business models.
