  • Extras: a thirteenth month, 8% holiday allowance, and a 10% Employee Benefit Budget.

Responsibilities

Help improve the quality of Rabobank’s account journeys for business customers. In this role, you contribute to reliable, scalable and user‑friendly account opening and account management journeys within a complex and constantly changing banking environment. You work closely with multidisciplinary teams to make quality visible, testable and part of everyday delivery while helping prevent defects before they occur.

Area Accounts is responsible for developing and maintaining Rabobank’s payment journeys for both consumers and businesses. This means our applications enable customers and bank employees to open, manage, and close payment accounts and related services.

These journeys are part of a complex banking landscape, with multiple systems, stakeholders, dependencies and regulatory requirements in a constantly changing environment. In this setting, quality cannot be something we check only at the end; it needs to be part of how the team works.

As Senior QA Engineer, you are an experienced specialist within a multidisciplinary DevOps squad. You work closely with your team and other stakeholders. You help translate requirements into testable scenarios and rock‑solid test plans, challenge unclear assumptions and support the team in making conscious decisions about quality, risk and release readiness.

You also contribute to a shared QA approach within Area Accounts. Together with other QA Engineers, you align on standards, tooling and best practices. In your own team, you help apply these standards in a practical and sustainable way.

Examples from practice
  • You provide feedback on customer journeys and identify quality risks to help create a seamless experience for customers managing their accounts.
  • Camunda is our new orchestrator software that is used for modelling and orchestrating the customer journeys. You convert existing customer journeys into testable scenarios for both exploratory and automated testing. With those scenarios you can verify that the conversion from the old orchestrator to Camunda is working as expected. Since testing creates feedback for the entire team, you engage other team members in your testing, so they can support you when any findings are discovered.
  • You challenge assumptions during discussions and help ensure quality risks are sufficiently mitigated using agreed testing standards and policies. You are aware of the risks defined by the team and the testing policies of the Rabobank and use these to make sure risk is sufficiently mitigated.
Facts & Figures
  • 36 to 40 hours per week.
  • At least 5 years of relevant quality engineering experience is represented within this role’s scope and complexity.
  • Over 48,000 Rabobank colleagues worldwide.

Additional Experience
Experience that will help you succeed

While not essential, experience with one or more of the following technologies would be an advantage:

  • Test automation frameworks such as WebDriver.IO and Cucumber
  • Contract testing using PactFlow
  • API testing with Postman or Bruno
  • Azure DevOps (Git and Pipelines)
  • SQL for test data preparation and result analysis
  • Confluence

What matters most

We're not looking for someone who knows every tool or framework. What matters most is that you bring solid senior‑level QA experience, a strong automation mindset and the ability to apply quality practices pragmatically within a multidisciplinary team. You understand that successful testing is about delivering valuable insights and helping teams build better software, not simply executing test scripts.
