Job description

The Challenge

Talk360’s users are counting on us to just work — a failed call isn’t a UX inconvenience; it’s a broken connection to someone who matters. Quality is the product.

Right now, our QA practice is at an inflection point. We’ve been largely manual and reactive. We’re changing that deliberately: shifting left, building automation into our definition of done, and making quality the shared responsibility of the whole engineering team — not a bottleneck at the end of the pipeline.

We’re looking for an automation engineer with deep quality instincts. Someone who can architect our testing infrastructure, embed quality thinking from the first line of code to production, and progressively eliminate the manual work that slows teams down. You’ll lead the journey, not just participate in it.

What You’ll Do
Own the QA process end to end
  • From backlog refinement — where you catch logic gaps and edge cases before a line of code is written — through feature testing, UAT, and production release. Structured, predictable, communicated clearly.

Lead the automation effort
  • Design, build, and maintain our automation frameworks across iOS, Android, Web, and API. Write automation code yourself. Review automation PRs from the dev team. Keep the suite healthy, fast, and trustworthy.

Drive the automation roadmap
  • Decide what gets automated and when. Build and prioritize the test scenario backlog. Organize hackathons and pairing sessions that bring engineers along on the journey — because in our model, the whole team contributes to automation.

Make quality measurable
  • Define and monitor QA metrics — coverage, cycle time, defect escape rate, regression confidence. Use data to identify gaps, improve incrementally, and make the case for investment.

Build the quality culture
  • Use SonarCloud, quality gates, CI/CD integration, and AI tooling to systematically raise our quality floor. Bring the team with you. Don’t wait to be asked.

The Team

You’ll work alongside Michal (interim QA Freelancer— who has been scoping and building our QA foundation) and the tech team with Igor (Mobile Lead), Tom (Tech Lead), Alex (Backend), Isah (Frontend), Oleg (Full Stack), and Yahaya (VoIP). On the product side, you’ll work closely with Kseniia.

Talk360 is a lean company — around 30 people globally — which means your impact is visible, and your influence is real. Cross-functional collaboration isn’t a value statement here; it’s just how the work happens.

Tech Stack

Must have:

  • Hands‑on mobile test automation experience - has built or owned a framework, not just contributed scripts (we use Appium but comparable tooling is fine).
  • Strong programming proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript or comparable language with willingness to ramp on TS.
  • Mobile test automation across iOS and Android (deep in one, solid working experience in the other).
  • Web test automation experience (we use Cypress but comparable tooling is fine).
  • API testing experience (we use Postman but comparable tooling is fine).
  • Git fluency and hands‑on CI/CD pipeline configuration (we use GitHub Actions but comparable tooling is fine).
  • Active use of AI tooling in their QA / automation workflow with concrete examples.

Nice to have:

  • SonarQube / SonarCloud — integration and quality gate configuration
  • Load / performance testing experience
  • Page Object Model architecture and framework design patterns
  • Experience in a multi-platform mobile product environment
  • Experience in testing real time communications
Who You Are
  • An automation engineer first — you build frameworks, not just scripts
  • Self‑directed: you see the gap in quality coverage and move toward it without needing a brief
  • Deeply invested in the end user — you understand that for our users, a broken call is a real‑world cost
  • Someone who finds issues but also figures out and implements the solution
  • Comfortable with complexity: legacy codebases, multi-platform edge cases, imperfect test environments
  • A strong communicator in English — you can translate quality status for engineers and non‑engineers alike
  • Experienced enough to design a test automation architecture from the ground up and defend the decisions
  • Based in or around Amsterdam (to be at the office on Monday’s and Thursday’s)
What You Get
  • Competitive compensation
    • Senior salary: €80,000 – €85,000 gross per year (all‑in)
  • Learning and growth
    • €1,500 annual personal development budget, plus access to company‑wide training sessions to keep learning and evolving.
  • Time to recharge
    • 25 vacation days
    • Option to swap two public holidays per year for days that better reflect your culture or beliefs
    • Recharge Fridays, unlocked when team targets are met (we’ll tell you more during the interview)
  • Work from anywhere
    • As a global and diverse team, we encourage you to work from another city or country for up to 2 weeks per year, gain fresh perspectives and spark new ideas.
  • A team you’ll actually want to be part of
    • Weekly team lunch every Thursday
    • Regular team moments and outings
    • An international and diverse team, with colleagues from the Netherlands, South Africa, Nigeria, Suriname, Turkey, Egypt, Kenya, Ukraine and beyond
  • Set up for success
    • Company laptop and all the tools you need to do your best work
    • Monthly phone allowance and commuting allowance
  • An environment to grow and make impact
    • A collaborative environment where you can learn from others, take ownership, and contribute to a meaningful mission.
