We're working with an Amsterdam-based product company in the recommerce / circular economy space.

They handle large volumes of physical items, imagery, historical valuations and market data, and are investing heavily in technology to make their appraisal process smarter.

The idea isn’t to replace human expertise with AI, but to build better tools around it.

The role

They’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer to work across backend engineering and applied AI. You’ll be building production software around real-world problems such as:

• Python services and APIs
• Image and product data processing
• Computer vision / image recognition
• Similarity search and item matching
• OCR and multimodal AI
• AI/ML features supporting valuation and identification
• Turning experiments into production-ready tools

There’s plenty of greenfield work, so you’ll have real influence over what gets built and how.

They’re looking for

• FastAPI, Django, Flask or similar
• APIs, backend systems and SQL databases
• Experience taking software from idea to production
• Exposure to AI/ML in real production environments

Nice to have:

• OpenCV
• PyTorch / TensorFlow
• Computer Vision
• OCR
• Image embeddings / similarity search
• RAG / LLM applications

  They’ll suit someone who is:
