Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Backend developer to join the team in Amsterdam. You will spend your time designing and coding technical solutions, and building brand new applications while shaping the project structure. You should embrace Elements' working style and continuously propose improvements.

The role requires strong Python/Django experience with 5-6 years in software development, an interest in Golang, and fluency in Dutch and English. Familiarity with CI/CD and AWS is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Backend developer, you will work with your team to make estimates and define architecture. You will spend most of your time designing and coding technical solutions. You will also build brand new applications and participate in defining the project structure. We expect you to adopt Elements' way of working and make suggestions to continuously improve it. Last but not least, we hope you bring a natural drive to stay up to date with the latest technological innovations.

Requirements

• Solid experience with professional programming and development of relevant projects
• At least 5-6 years of experience in Python/Django development with a genuine interest in learning Golang
• Experience with Golang is a huge plus
• Any experience with or eagerness to learn: Node.js, React, React Native, Typescript, Vue, Kotlin and Swift is welcomed
• Aware of current CI/CD trends and able to work with them
• Experience with working in agile project teams (Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellent Dutch and English language and communication skills
• Creative, curious, flexible and open-minded
• Independent thinker, yet committed to company's and team's success
• Familiarity with Postgres, AWS, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki is a plus

Core Competencies

Demonstrates extensive experience in Python/Django development while showing eagerness to learn Golang and other modern technologies. Proficient in agile methodologies and CI/CD practices, with strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
