Job summary

Halian, a technology‑driven recruitment and contracting partner, seeks an experienced Python (Backend) Developer to join their Amsterdam engineering team. You will build and optimize backend services, design scalable RESTful APIs and microservices, and collaborate across cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

You will apply TDD, work with containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and participate in CI/CD while embracing Agile/Scrum practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python development experience in backend or full‑stack environments.
• Proficiency with Python frameworks such as Django and/or Flask.
• Hands‑on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices (CI/CD).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and CI/CD pipeline workflows.

• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing activities including meetups, training sessions, and internal engineering discussions.
