Job summary

SMART Photonics in Eindhoven seeks a Senior Product Manager to shape the roadmap for InP photonic integration, translating customer applications into product strategies and aligning R&D with market needs.

You will focus on telecom and datacom markets, engage with customers in LiDAR, sensing, and biomedical areas, and influence platform development and the EPDA tool ecosystem. Strong leadership and travel willingness are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in photonics, semiconductor, sensing, or telecom.
• Strong ability to translate customer needs into product requirements.
• Experience bridging technology and business; cross-functional leadership.
• Familiarity with EPDA tool ecosystem and pure-play foundry concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for InP photonic integration technologies across telecom and datacom markets.
• Translate customer needs and system challenges into clear product requirements, functional specifications, and PIC building blocks.
• Serve as the key interface between customers, R&D, and engineering, aligning market needs with technology capabilities and influencing roadmaps.
• Shape and influence company strategy by identifying market trends, defining strategic priorities, and aligning direction with business goals.
• Drive new customer engagement and build strong, long-term partnerships.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to identify, assess, and develop new business opportunities, defining scope for customer projects.
• Guide technology development by defining specifications with R&D and prioritizing execution with Engineering.
• Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to position products effectively in the market.
• Integrate market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence into product positioning and roadmap decisions.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and customer focus within the Product Management team.
• Collaborate with external partners (e.g., EPDA tool providers) to advance broader technology and software ecosystem.
