Job description

Take the lead on innovative CO₂ technologies: from idea to global impact!

Are you an experienced technical professional who takes complex technologies to the next level? Do you want to take overall responsibility for the development and standardisation of innovative carbon capture solutions that are implemented worldwide? If so, we can offer you a key role within one of the fastest-growing technologies of the energy transition.

About HoSt Group & Bright Renewables

HoSt Group is a global leader in the development and implementation of high-tech systems for the production of renewable energy from waste streams. With projects in more than 45 countries and offices in the Netherlands, France, Poland, Latvia and the US, amongst others, we contribute every day to the energy transition and a cleaner world.

As a family-run business, founded in 1991, we combine innovation with a down-to-earth approach. We give our people the space to grow, show initiative and contribute to a sustainable future.

Bright Renewables is a supplier of technologies for renewable gas and CO₂ capture, offering global solutions from production to maintenance. As part of the HoSt Group, we work with over 600 colleagues worldwide, 300 of whom are based at our head office in Enschede.

The role

As a Senior Product Developer at Bright Renewables, you will be part of a multidisciplinary business unit comprising more than 80 professionals. Based at our office in Enschede, you will work in a small team of four within Product Management and report to the Product Management Manager. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the further development and standardisation of our sustainable technologies.

You will draw up product development plans, monitor the associated budgets and act as the first point of contact for product standards in relation to Engineering, Sales, Site Support and our suppliers. In doing so, you will work closely with colleagues from Project Management, Engineering, Software and Sales.

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Product Developer, you will have overall responsibility for the further development of our Carbon Capture technology. You will help shape the product strategy, translate market developments into technical innovations and steer the product development roadmap. In doing so, you will have a significant say in investment decisions, standardisation issues and technological decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drawing up the annual product development plan and monitoring the associated budget;

  • Taking ownership of the technical standards and long-term development of our Carbon Capture technology;

  • Initiating and implementing product improvements, new functionalities and technical standards that contribute to the further professionalisation and scalability of our Carbon Capture technology;

  • Carrying out technical analyses and identifying opportunities for improvement to continuously optimise the performance, reliability, cost-efficiency and standardisation of our systems;

  • Managing product development and maintenance activities, monitoring progress, setting priorities and ensuring timely decision-making and delivery;

  • Acting as a technical sparring partner for Sales on commercial and strategic customer issues.

  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with international suppliers and technology partners.

What are we looking for?
  • A completed technical degree at Master’s level (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar);

  • At least 5 to 8 years’ practical experience in a technical product development environment, or a background in engineering;

  • Experience of independently managing complex development projects and making technical decisions at product level;

  • Experience of stakeholder management within multidisciplinary and international organisations is an advantage.

  • A proactive and committed approach to work, with a pragmatic mindset;

  • A results-oriented approach and the drive to achieve success together with the team;

  • A good command of both Dutch and English.

What makes this role attractive?

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of an international applied technology platform. You will have a direct influence on the technical direction of our Carbon Capture solutions and will work alongside experienced specialists on the next generation of sustainable energy systems.
