Job summary

Neste, the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel and SAF, seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Rotterdam (Maasvlakte). You will report to the Process Engineering Supervisor and work with Operations and Maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient refinery operations.

You will own assigned unit performance, drive improvements, and support startup/shutdown events. A chemical engineering degree and 5+ years in petrochemical environments are required; on-site work in the Netherlands is

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in petrochemical and/or industrial production.
• Experience with commissioning and start-up of a new refinery is a strong preference.

As a Senior Process Engineer you will report to the Process Engineering Supervisor and work closely with the other Process Engineers within the team. You will also work closely with the Operations and Maintenance departments. As a Senior Process Engineer you will be responsible for an assigned area of the Refinery Operations. You will be focusing on the mid to long term unit operations (7 days to 1 year) and are the first line of support to Operations with day to day unit monitoring to ensure compliant, safe, reliable and efficient operations.

• Unit performance monitoring related to efficiency (i.e. energy, variable costs and OEE);
• Initiate and develop improvement ideas in a systematic manner;
• Shut-down/Start-up support during planned and unplanned events;
• Reviewer of operational shut-down/ start-up instructions.

Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

• Bachelor or Master degree in chemical engineering is a requirement;
• You are an experienced Process Engineer with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in petrochemical and/or industrial production;
• Experience with commissioning and start up of a new refinery is a strong preference;
• You are currently based in the Netherlands and are authorized to work in the Netherlands without requiring visa sponsorship.
