Loyens & Loeff N.V. is seeking a Senior Pricing Specialist in Amsterdam to advise Partners and senior lawyers on pricing, profitability and commercial matters.

You will help professionalise pricing across the firm with governance, dashboards and models while collaborating with Finance, BD and legal teams. You will support pitches, RFPs and client negotiations, driving value-based pricing and AFAs aligned with market needs.

Qualifications

• University degree, preferably a master’s, in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in pricing within a professional services environment; preferably legal.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills, including advanced Excel; Power BI is an asset.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to translate financial analysis into actionable pricing advice.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across Finance, BD and Legal teams.
• Proactive, solution-driven mindset with drive to improve pricing processes, models and ways of working.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken; Dutch and/or French is an asset.

Senior Pricing Specialist

Would you like to use your pricing expertise to directly influence the commercial and financial performance of a leading international law and tax firm? Do you enjoy tackling complex pricing challenges, advising senior stakeholders and developing pricing strategies that create value for both clients and the firm? Then this role as Senior Pricing Specialist at Loyens & Loeff could be the right opportunity for you. As Senior Pricing Specialist, you will be a key subject matter expert within Commercial Excellence (CE), part of our broader Commercial & Legal Excellence (CLE) department. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Excellence, you will combine strategic responsibility with hands‑on support to our practices, advising Partners and senior lawyers on pricing, profitability and commercial matters while helping us further professionalise our approach to pricing.

Key Responsibilities

• develop and implement pricing frameworks, guidelines and governance to support a consistent and financially sound approach across the firm;
• act as a trusted advisor to Partners and senior lawyers on pricing strategy, matter pricing, fee arrangements and complex commercial matters;
• support pitches, RFPs and client negotiations, developing tailored pricing proposals where required;
• drive the adoption of value-based pricing and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) that reflect client needs and market developments;
• support legal teams in scoping and budgeting matters and model different pricing scenarios to find the right balance between competitiveness and profitability;
• analyse and monitor profitability, margins, realisation and budget versus actuals, proactively advising on adjustments where needed, and conduct post‑matter reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future pricing decisions;
• develop and improve pricing reports, dashboards and financial models that enable data‑driven pricing decisions;
• develop and continuously improve pricing models, tools and processes, staying abreast of market developments and evolving client expectations around value, transparency and fee structures;
• strengthen commercial awareness across the firm by advising, coaching and training Partners and other senior stakeholders on pricing best practices.

Qualifications

• a university degree, preferably a master’s degree, in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field;
• relevant experience in pricing within a professional services environment, preferably within the legal sector;
• excellent financial and analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills, PowerBi skills are considered as an asset the seniority and influencing skills to act as a credible and trusted advisor to Partners and other senior stakeholders;
• a strong commercial mindset and the ability to translate financial analysis into clear and actionable pricing advice;
• strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Business Development and legal teams;
• a proactive and solution‑driven mindset, combined with the ambition to continuously improve pricing processes, models and ways of working;
• an excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered an asset.

About the team

You will join Commercial Excellence (CE), which forms part of our Commercial & Legal Excellence (CLE) department, and report directly to the Head of Commercial Excellence. In this senior specialist role, you will work closely with Partners, Practice Leaders, Finance and Business Development. The position is based in Amsterdam and has a firm‑wide and international scope, supporting different practices and offices. This includes occasional travel to our offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. For key pricing matters, you may also be directly involved in discussions and negotiations with clients. As an individual contributor without direct reports, your impact comes primarily from your expertise, advisory capabilities and ability to influence stakeholders across the firm.
