Job summary

Vanderlande Industries B.V. seeks a Senior Software Developer (PLC) to lead design and development of advanced control solutions for our distribution systems.

You will translate customer needs into robust PLC-based automation and create detailed technical deliverables, supporting system integration across complex environments. With 3+ years' Siemens PLC experience and strong TIA Portal, you will drive risk analysis, cybersecurity adherence, and continuous improvement while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• 3+ years' experience with Siemens PLC platforms (S7-1200, S7-1500, ET200 family).
• Expert-level proficiency in TIA Portal (V15+), including PLC, HMI, and Safety.
• Experience with Safety PLC programming (FSystems, safety functions, SIL/PL concepts).
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, OPC UA).
• Experience with Siemens Drives (G120, S120) and motion control applications.
• Familiarity with SCADA and data connectivity (WinCC, Unified, MQTT, SQL, or MES).
• Cybersecurity awareness (IEC 62443 principles).
• Understanding STL and SCL program language.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of advanced control solutions for Vanderlande’s Distribution systems.
• Translate customer needs into robust, scalable PLC-based automation.
• Create detailed technical deliverables and support system integration.
• Analyze risks and drive continuous improvement of control system functionality across complex environments.
• Mentor and lead automation projects with minimal supervision.
