Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Platform Observability in Amsterdam. You will build and maintain services that help engineers understand real-time behavior of the platform, diagnose issues, and enable data discovery across logs, metrics, and traces.

You will tackle scaling, design APIs, and improve reliability of the observability stack while collaborating with product teams. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership and engineering excellence in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with highly distributed systems.
• Experience designing APIs and data pipelines for high-throughput, real-time data ingestion.
• Proven ability to improve reliability across availability, latency, and incident management.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Java.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools like Terraform.
• Strong system design and trade-off evaluation skills.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering end-to-end projects.

Responsibilities

• Solve scaling bottlenecks in the Logging, Metrics, Traces & Alerting pipeline.
• Design and evolve APIs used by product teams, aligning with stakeholders.
• Identify bottlenecks and single points of failure to improve reliability.
• Drive feature ideation, implementation and adoption of observability products.
• Collaborate on planning to ensure engineering alignment and reduce complexity.
• Respond to alerts and provide production support to engineers.
