Job summary

WLG in Den Haag is seeking a policy and partnerships professional to support NATO-related engagements. The role requires relocation to the United States, Norfolk, VA, and involves coordinating activities, developing briefing materials, and ensuring policy compliance.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree in international relations or security, hands-on experience in foreign affairs or defence, and proven ability to brief senior leaders in a multinational alliance context.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate degree in international relations, international security, international development or military studies.
• Experience in foreign affairs, international security or defence.
• Experience inside an alliance structure or defence ministry.
• Working knowledge of partnerships, defence planning or military cooperation.
• Experience drafting and briefing senior leaders (flag officers or equivalents).
• Fluent professional English.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to activities, outputs and coordination rhythm of the partnerships branch.
• Acting as a central point of contact for partnership work strands across directorates.
• Developing briefings, point papers, speaking notes, reports and decision-support products for senior leadership.
• Developing and reviewing policies, directives, concepts and procedures behind military partnerships.
• Identifying, coordinating and tracking activities and programmes of work.
• Maintaining corporate memory, knowledge management and document traceability.
• Ensuring partnership activities and information sharing follow security policy.
• Preparing and executing key leader engagements with background papers and talking points.
• Travel to meetings, conferences, workshops and exercises up to ~30 days a year.
