Job summary

Heerema Shipping in Leiden, NL is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a specialized offshore engineering team. You will lead design and development of bespoke offshore equipment for the global fleet, translating concepts into manufacturable solutions and supporting offshore execution.

You will perform FEM analyses, 3D Inventor design, structural calculations, and coordinate with subcontractors and fabricators to ensure safe, reliable equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in offshore mechanical design and project execution.
• FEM analyses, 3D design, and fabrication drawing preparation.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of bespoke offshore equipment for the global fleet, integrating engineering and design in Inventor, including FEM analyses, 3D design and occasionally fabrication drawings.
• Preparing structural calculations, design reports, component justifications, test protocols and user manuals.
• Realization of equipment with support from external subcontractors.
• Visiting fabricators to inspect and witness functional testing.
